Kremlin Cottage Stables
Kremlin Cottage Stables were built in the 19th century as a stud for Prince Solytoff who lived at his house called The Kremlin near the Severals trotting rings in the heart of Newmarket. Nearly 150 years later the original stables have been immaculately restored and the stabling has been extended to accommodate a very modern training yard. The yard is located on the Bury Side of town and is well-positioned to access the grass and all-weather gallops on both sides of Newmarket.
Prior to Hugo being granted a licence at Kremlin Cottage in March 2011 several trainers had used these stables as an overflow; most notably Luca Cumani who stabled a lot of his best horses here. His two Derby winners KAHYASI and HIGH RISE were both stabled here throughout their three year old seasons. It is therefore a fitting symmetry that Hugo’s first Group winner, AKTABANTAY, was bred by Luca and Sara Cumani at their Fittocks Stud.
